JP INN Kyoto Ekimae Mongakucho

We really enjoyed our long stay and were very satisfied. The rooms were clean, spacious, and good, and the building felt very secure. It’s in a quiet spot but still within walking distance of the train station. The staff were so nice and helpful. Toothbrushes, shampoo, towels, tea, and coffee were provided.

We paid S$450.00 for 5 days and 4 nights, which seemed reasonable to me. There were two queen beds, and the room was cool and cosy. Everything was fine, though it was a bit squeezy.

The street was quiet and atmospheric, with old wooden houses, and the place is within walking distance of Kyoto Station. You can also rent bikes, and the washing machines are free to use. My clean room had a microwave, kettle, and fridge. There was no view at all, but the price was very reasonable, so I’d absolutely recommend it. A note about staffing: nobody is on the premises until 2:30 pm, though they make that clear when you book.

The location is handy, just a 5-minute walk from the station. The hotel has all the comforts, including a washing machine in every room, and the front desk staff are very friendly. I would have given it five stars, but near the end of our stay the housekeeper kept accusing us of smoking in the room. The front desk took responsibility for what happened.
