Ariya and Yoshi were lovely, and easy to reach by message. I’ve stayed twice, last autumn and again this summer, and both visits were amazing. The place is easy to get around from, but what really stayed with me was the little space itself, with traditional Kyoto architecture, modern art, and so much attention to detail. If you're in Japan now, book before the borders open!

I came to an event at this guesthouse and spent a few hours unwinding there. It blends traditional machiya architecture with the feel of a gallery or small, intimate nightclub. It seems like a lovely place to stay, especially for couples who want the city center nearby and a cozy retreat with none of the usual hotel feel.

Komorebi has a peaceful neighborhood despite being right in the heart of Kyoto, and the owners are warm, welcoming people. The house is a traditional Kyoto machiya with distinctive artistic decor. I'd highly recommend Komorebi to visitors, or locals after a staycation who want traditional Kyoto with a modern, artistic touch.

The people who run the place are incredibly friendly and helpful, and their family has lived in Kyoto for generations, so they know the city inside out. The house has a wonderful Kyoto feel and a mix of art. This is a real local gem. Big chain hotels all feel the same and don't have this kind of culture.

Ichi go ichi e. This was the best AirBnB I've stayed in, with a beautiful home-like feel and a great location. The place is an art experience in its own right as well as a great base in Kyoto. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime Kyoto stay.
