Rinn Machiya Kuon

The old wooden house had a noticeable smell, and the rooms felt dusty while we were in them. We were told they had been renovated recently, but it didn't come across that way. Still, the traditional style was a nice experience, and the rooms had all the amenities. The layout was thoughtfully planned except for the stairs: the rooms are upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and carrying luggage up the narrow stairway was a struggle. There was also a small garden, though it was mostly stone with nowhere to sit, so we couldn't really use it. The equipment had instructions only in Japanese. The handbook included a little English, but we mostly had to guess how things worked.
