We had an incredible stay at Koko Hotel Kyoto Sanjo in December. It’s near a train station, a konbini, and a few places to eat, and the guests were friendly and very helpful. The hotel’s luggage delivery service, takkyubin, was handy. I highly recommend it if you’re visiting Kyoto. Thanks for a great stay!

We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel, but we did help ourselves to the free coffee. The room was the biggest we stayed in during our Japan trip, and having laundry available was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in and the hotel let us store our luggage.
8/10
The mattress was pretty hard, and the hotel didn’t prepare anything special for our honeymoon. Still, the location was handy, six minutes on foot from Sanjo with several bus stops nearby. There’s also a laundromat on the third floor, which was really convenient, and the two guys at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
10/10
The room was roomy and comfortable, and breakfast was good. Staff were courteous and quick to help. It’s also handy for public transport and Pontoncho Alley. I stayed six nights and was very happy with the hotel.
6/10
The location is the best part, right by Nishiki-Market and close to Gion center. The hotel looks impressive from the street, and the rooms were nice, though not especially clean. The reception staff weren’t friendly or willing to help. It felt like they were finding excuses to send me away instead of dealing with things. There’s no lobby, just a restaurant opposite reception, and both that space and the coffee machine are only available at certain times.
