香柏 西院 - Kouhaku Saiin

Check-in was straightforward, and the place was generally clean and comfortable. It’s within walking distance of the station, with two unusual supermarkets even closer than the convenience stores. The snag for us was the TV: there was no BS subscription, so only terrestrial channels were available. That might be fine in a mid-sized or smaller business hotel, but it was a bit of a problem here. Some low chairs in the living room would’ve helped too, since there was nowhere for everyone to sit back and relax.

We stayed for three nights and four days in November. The rooms and facilities felt new, clean, and comfortable, and the staff who helped us were all very nice. There are several supermarkets close by, which makes it a good fit if you want to travel more like a local. It is a little far from the city center. One small kitchen issue: all the plates are quite large, so small plates and soy sauce dishes would be useful.

This was my second stay, and the kitchen is still a big plus. It’s well equipped and makes cooking during the visit really convenient. Most of the staff are friendly too. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m here.

It’s a large house with at least five beds. Getting in is easy with the electronic lock for self check-in, and it’s close to both the metro and buses.
