There’s a kitchen and laundry on site, and it’s nice that there’s no curfew. The rooms are a decent size, but the place is split across two buildings. If you end up in the second one, you'll have to change slippers a lot. The room doors are hollow steel and make a ton of noise when you use them. Bathrooms are very tiny, and hot water is only available at set times of day.

The owner was very friendly and accommodating, and my room had the things I needed. I did find the bathroom space challenging. The guesthouse is a quaint place near Gojo train station and the bus stop. There’s a washing machine for ¥200 and a dryer for ¥100. The kitchen is free to use. Fresco is within walking distance if you want to buy groceries. I'd stay here again when I return to Kyoto.

This is a nice little Japanese ryokan, clean and quiet, with good wifi and a good rate. Gojo station is less than a four-minute walk away. It seems to be booked up quite often, and I'd be fine staying again on my next trip. Just note that they don't provide toothbrushes or shavers.

I've stayed at this hostel three times. The hosts are very friendly, and the rooms are Japanese style. It's close to Kyoto Station, the main attractions, and some good cafes.

This may be the most convenient guest house I've stayed in. It's well equipped, with a washing machine and kitchen. The owner shares useful details about the area and popular sights, including how to get to them. They also sell a one-day bus ticket for ¥500, and bicycles are available to rent.
