The apartment-style rooms are very large, with a washer dryer and a kitchen stocked for cooking. It’s in a nice, quiet part of the city, and getting to the temples is easy. I rated it 4/5 because there was some mild grime in the floor corners and stains on the couch.

A subway station and convenience store are very close, and it’s a great place overall. The washer and dryer were disappointing, though. The dryer doesn’t fully dry the clothes and leaves lots of wrinkles. It takes a long time, so you have to keep checking; otherwise, you’ll come back to partially wet, very wrinkled clothes.

The staff were warm and friendly throughout, and we really enjoyed our stay. Our room felt more like a spacious, bright apartment, with soft music in the hallway and a bottle of water for each person every day. You enter with a door code rather than using a key. Gion is walkable and the subway is very close. We’d definitely book here again if we return to Kyoto.

The suite worked really well for our family of four. It had two toilets but just one shower, though the shower itself was very nice. The room looked modern and felt comfortable. We appreciated the water bottles, coffee machine, and other amenities, as well as the staff's breakfast suggestions nearby. Lawson's right next door got plenty of visits from us.
