The house is cute and traditionally Japanese, and the price was decent. It scored highly for location, cleanliness, equipment and decor, with the style getting a 5+. Comfort was a 4 because it was cold when we arrived, though it warmed up quickly. Wi-Fi was a 4.

We managed to book at the last minute, perhaps because there weren't many foreign tourists. It's a two-story house in a machiya style, and we could really take our time and relax there. It can accommodate a large group, so I think it works especially well for families, and there's a kitchen for making simple meals. The stairs are steep, so older people and small children may be better off staying on the first floor. The ceilings are low too, so watch your head on the beams. It's close to Kyoto Station, with convenience stores and restaurants nearby. If you're driving, be aware that nearby parking is often full when you have a lot of luggage, and parking fees are high.
