It's close to JR Saga-Arashiyama Station and Arashiyama, and the hotel offers a free shuttle. The employees are very nice, though some can get confused easily. The room layout also feels cluttered.

We had a car, so it was convenient for traveling outside the city for the price. The room was clean, and reception was kind 😊

The dinner was a highlight, beautifully presented, healthy, and delicious, and the counter service was good. The hotel itself was good too. Wi-Fi was slow, though, and parking is limited. I had to leave the car two blocks away.

We stayed April 21-27. The friendly staff spoke English, and the shuttle was efficient and easier than taking the bus. Those are the reasons for the extra star. Still, my overall rating is 2/5. There are no amenities like a pool or gym, and there was no AC. I definitely wouldn't stay here or at a similar chain again. Japan Prince Hotel in Otsu, the next town over, was only $10-15 USD more. Bonus: We did an INE road trip through Klook on 4/24 and managed to catch some cherry blossoms. We found them by a strange bridge, at a river beach whose name I forgot. They called it “sound bar” in English.
