There's a lovely indoor Japanese garden by reception, and it makes the place feel relaxing even when it's raining. This is a nice, small ryokan with very good open-air onsen. The service and meals are very good, and the price is reasonable.

Dinner and breakfast were both impeccable. The hot spring water comes directly from the source, and the friendly staff helped me relax during my stay at this very cozy inn. I'd definitely like to visit again.

The room's open-air bath was spacious, with a little garden and a luxurious hot spring faucet. The room was clean, and the interior was stylish and tidy. Tsuruya was one of the more affordable Yubara options with an open-air bath, which is why I chose it this time after visiting Yubara Onsen several times before. The service was polite and welcoming, all the food was delicious, and we got to sample three kinds of sake in our room. I really appreciated that. It's a little way from the sand bath, but only about a 10-minute walk, and a lovely spot for strolling around town. At night, lights were glowing everywhere and gave the place a nostalgic feel. I heard you can see fireflies from late May to early June, and I saw some! The river, birds, frogs, and fireflies were all so soothing.

The inn is quite a maze inside, and I got lost several times because I was drunk. My wife and daughter managed fine 🤣 There was a hanzaki in the courtyard, though I couldn't see it well because my eyesight is poor. It's a fairly high-end hot spring inn in Yubara Onsen, with delicious food and great baths. I thought it was a shame that it was so empty. Since it used to be a sake brewery, tasting the sake was fun (≧∇≦). We were short on time, so we ordered quickly and enjoyed it in the evening.

The expanded and renovated facility now has a maze-like layout, which is kind of interesting. The hot spring baths are amazing, and a room with its own open-air bath makes the stay even more satisfying. The food is tasty and the portions are generous. In the evening, you can sample three kinds of sake in small cups.
