A bus stop is very close, with a 7Eleven just across the street and a coin laundry a few minutes away on foot. The owner speaks fluent English, so communication was easy, and she was so kind. She really made our Matsue stay a highlight of our Japan trip. We loved this beautiful renovated home, especially the tastefully decorated living room with fresh flowers.

Everything we wanted to see was within easy walking distance, from supermarkets, the castle and restaurants to shops and train stations. The owner was very friendly and spoke very good English, so it works well for visitors from abroad. It’s a lovely home from the Showa Period, and the owner leaves a small light breakfast with fruit.

We booked the whole traditional Japanese house for ourselves, and the host was welcoming while still giving us privacy. She made us feel at home and gave us good restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was simple, American style. A nice supermarket was about a five minute walk away, and lots of sights and restaurants were 15 to 20 minutes away on foot. Really convenient, and highly recommended.

The owner made us feel so welcome and speaks fluent English. The house was spotless and very comfortable, and breakfast was a treat. It was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful traditional home. I had a wonderful three night visit with my son and daughter in law, and would thoroughly recommend it if you’re in the Matsue area.
