Izumo Tamatsukurionsen Shiraishiya

This hotel is 300 years old and has the feeling of a home. If you want to experience a traditional Japanese hotel, this is the right place. The owner and staff are so warm, and I loved the little handwritten note. Don't worry about the language, you can understand each other by heart : ) The onsen is really good.

Dinner was the standout for me. The courses mostly arrived separately, so the meal didn’t feel rushed, and the duck meatball stew with brown miso was a really inspired dish. The crab was delicious too, and breakfast even included French toast. The rooms are roomy, the yukata selection is nice, and service was great. It’s a large ryokan, but still very comfortable, with lovely baths including one made of cedar. I’d highly recommend it.

The food was delicious, and both the room and hot spring were clean and quite peaceful. Service was excellent, though the staff weren’t very comfortable speaking English. I’d like to come back.

The rooms and public buses were clean, and every employee was friendly and ready to help. I’d like to stay here again.
