You can stay here with pets, which is unusual, and the view from the window is pretty good. But I wouldn't recommend coming in winter. It gets really cold. Even with the air conditioner set to 32°C, it didn't warm up at all. I think the building's structure and airtightness may be the problem. The rooms also aren't kept clean, so you might want to ask about renting an unused room.

I've been staying at these hotels for 3-4 years, but on my last visit I ended up double-booked. I'd made the reservation a year ahead, yet they gave priority to someone who booked later and said they'd look for another comparable place nearby. Mistakes happen, so I tried to accept that. I told them the least we needed was Wi-Fi for the kids and air conditioning so they could sleep, and they searched for somewhere. When I asked if it had air conditioning, they said yes. But after we moved, it turned out to be only a fan, and sleeping in that big room was impossible. We paid the same price, and I wasn't happy. I didn't complain because I didn't see the point, but the careless management and poor treatment after years as a regular customer put me off for good. The location and being able to bring dogs were good, which makes it a shame, but I don't want to book again.

The elevated setting is quiet and has a beautiful view, and you can have a BBQ. Inside, though, it wasn't very clean, and there were lots of bugs. I'd like bug conners, more dish towels, and some ladles and other utensils. It was hard to get a knife into the room, and there are no amenities. It may be a personal preference, but I wish there were a changing area. It's fine for a family, but otherwise a bit of a hassle.

The hilltop location gives you a wonderful view of the sea and night sky, and the price and location are great. It's about 30 minutes from Matsue city center and an hour from Izumo, and it's one of the few places near Matsue that allows dogs. The building shows wear, and there's a noticeable sewage smell, so it may not suit people who are sensitive to that. The humidity was surprisingly high even though it's almost 100 meters above the sea. If you're driving, avoid coming up from the coastline. Take Prefectural Road 21 on the east side and look for the San'in Family Academy sign.
