Rakuten STAY HOUSE × WILL STYLE Matsue

For Matsue, I think this is the best inn for a clean, affordable stay.

Room 103 had nearly everything our family could need: a living area, dining table, open kitchen, washer and dryer, projector, and even an iron. It came with cookware, dishes, microwave, fridge, induction cooker, and a UCC danma coffee machine too. The bathtub was quite large, with its drain on the front left. The one thing missing was a scale 🤭. The only drawback for us was the walk from the station, about 13 minutes. Lake Shinji is nearby.

I appreciated the water dispenser and the supplied coffee machine and hot plate. There was also a stopper for families with small children, which was useful given how steep the stairs are. I stayed in room 101; the bedroom, bathroom, changing area, and toilet were all on the first floor, and the bathroom and toilet spaces felt cramped and a little inconvenient. I was looking forward to the Pop-In Aladdin, but it wouldn't work, perhaps because of a settings issue. Since the building sits at an intersection, parking could be tricky.

We came as a family and found the kitchen gear, dishes, and sink handy and in good shape. A Lawson is close by. The emailed instructions made it easy to get into our room despite there being no front desk, and a tablet handles both check-in and check-out. The Pop-In Aladdin lets you watch TV, though playback was often choppy, possibly because of the internet speed. The bathroom is quite small, its remote is awkward to use, and there are no handrails, which could make it difficult for older guests. There are five parking spots, including one reserved for kei cars. Cleaning could have been better: snacks and empty packaging from the previous guests were still there.
