It felt like a really local, one-of-a-kind experience. I'd highly recommend it.

The home was great for our group of 8-10, with plenty of room. We also had useful extras like playing cards and a TV with YouTube and Netflix. The accessories were good, and I especially liked the tatami mats and Kotatsu.

We got held up by road trouble and arrived late, around 10pm. The host waited for us and patiently explained everything. The place had a very complete set of amenities, including kitchen utensils, and felt worth the price. Matsumoto Castle is a 10-minute walk away.

We had such a good stay here. It's easy to walk to restaurants, Matsumoto Train station, and, of course, 7-11. Eiryo was a gracious host and patiently answered lots of our questions. His family also has a small archery shop where you can practice traditional Japanese archery, which was a lovely extra.
