Fairfield by Marriott Mie Kumano Kodo Mihama

The reception staff were so warm and helpful, even though I don’t know much Japanese. I wish I’d caught their names so they could get credit for it. The rooms were clean and a high standard. For this price, it’s an amazing hotel. We wished we could stay longer.

It’s a little out of the way, but works well if you’re driving yourself. Don’t miss the stone beach across the road. Go pick out a stone!

This one surprised us. We were on a three-week honeymoon tour and stayed in nine hotels, including some fancy places that cost almost ten times as much per night. I still remember this one more than most of them. For value, it was the best of the lot. The low, moody lighting and all the wood in the reception, halls, and rooms made it feel calm and relaxing. The bed was huge, and the room had what we needed: a really good shower, nice shampoo and gel, mirrors, water, tea and coffee with a kettle, and pajamas. There’s also a shared area downstairs with a microwave, kettle, kitchen utensils, and a fridge with frozen fresh soups, which we didn’t try. It’s beside a fairly busy road, but we didn’t hear any traffic. The service was amazing, as you’d expect in Japan. I’d really recommend Benkei restaraunt across the road for some very nice Ramen!

We loved how tidy and clean the hotel was, and slept so well on the soft bed and pillows. The staff were friendly and happy to help. There’s a spacious park, laundry, and lounge area, with amenities you can use, including free coffee, utensils, a microwave, and a limited food selection you can order. It’s right by the road, but you can’t hear the cars. Such a lovely place. 🥰
