Misasa Garden Hotel

The madam was so friendly, and the chef was lovely! We had a great time.

I make a point of visiting every year in early December, and the Tottori Wagyu is a big reason why. The roast beef is incredibly tender, almost light enough to eat like salad, and the steak at the end has a lovely, refined richness. Both are cooked so well that the beef’s own flavor really comes through, and I always feel like I could have more. I'm already looking forward to next year. We didn't stay overnight, so I haven't rated the accommodation. The roast beef shown in the photo is for two people.

The steak and fish were delicious, and everyone on staff was very polite. We stayed one night during a family trip in 2024, and it ended up feeling like a great find. I was looking for somewhere nice but a little less expensive since it was the year I left my job and was thinking about what came next. The hotel baths are pleasant, and nearby hot springs such as Misasa-kan are another option. I didn't know that beforehand and went to Misasa-kan's day-use baths instead. I'd like to stay here again when I visit Misasa.

Meals are Western-style, and the roast beef is the one I'd especially recommend. The hotel sits on a hill a little way from the Mitokugawa hot spring town, so it feels quiet and restful. The renovated rooms are very clean, and children are welcome, with picture books and toys available. You can see the owner's thoughtful, tasteful touch throughout the place. Misasa Onsen is said to have Japan's highest-radon hot spring, and even breathing the steam in the bathroom left me feeling refreshed.
