Mito Prince

In a word, it's the worst. 「Prince」is nowhere to be found。 It has nothing to do with the real “Prince” hotel chain, and doesn't come close to a tenth of its quality or service. But I'm not giving it one star because of the name. It's a terrible, old, uncomfortable hotel, and the male staff member was rude. He made me leave my ¥1,000,000 bicycle outside the hotel overnight!

Comfortable stay. At breakfast, you can sample different kinds of natto, Mito's local specialty.

The front desk staff were friendly, and the location was great. Breakfast was reasonably priced and included a natto tasting option. The men's large public bath has been renovated and is comparable to those at well-known hotels. But the towels in the rooms had picked up the room's smell, which was disappointing. The building and facilities are incredibly old, like time stopped in the Bubble Era. The hallways and rooms smell moldy. Wallpaper is peeling, the guest bathroom has mold, and the plastic parts are yellowed. Dim, warm lighting makes it all feel worse. There's also a smell suggesting a plumbing problem, and the exhaust fan gets even louder when left on, so it's a vicious cycle. When I dropped something and looked under the bed, I found dust and hair everywhere. The LAN cable and power cord along the wall were dusty too, with a pile of grime. By the sofa, which was stained with some kind of liquid, there was a mysterious medicine tablet that a previous guest had probably dropped. It made me wonder how well the room was cleaned. It was incredibly cheap, so it might work if you only need somewhere to sleep, but I wouldn't choose it again.
