The owner's mother made a delicious breakfast with carefully chosen ingredients, and it left me feeling refreshed. I had a quiet, peaceful, really relaxing stay. This was my first visit to Miyako Island, and even though I arrived without a plan, the owner's kindness helped make the trip so fulfilling. I'm grateful, and I've added another favorite place to my list. I'd definitely stay again.

The room had an amazing view. Leaving the curtains open meant waking naturally with the morning sun and falling asleep under the stars. There's no TV, which makes it a good place for a digital detox. We stayed four nights in August, and breakfast started at 8 a.m. That timing felt rushed on mornings when we had activities at 9. The four breakfasts were all different: Asian, Okinawan, Western, then Japanese. It was nice getting plenty of vegetables in the morning while traveling, and the Western galette was delicious. The Japanese choices were maybe a little unusual. A short drive away there's a very modern 24-hour coin laundry that washes and dries clothes automatically in 45 minutes, very convenient. The imported amenities weren't replenished after the second day. Surely they could refill the bathroom even while we were using the shower? Bugs are hard to avoid. The ants even made off with the brown sugar sticks I made during the brown sugar experience. (tears)

The owner's mother made a delicious breakfast, and the fresh juice in the morning was great too. My husband and I spent three nights here, and the owner was very nice, which made it easy to relax. It's quiet and private, a good fit for adults. Each room has a rooftop deck with a chair where you can lie back and look over the town, sea, and sky. I was deeply moved by the starry sky. I'd never seen so many stars spread across the whole sky before. Imgya Marine is only a five-minute walk away, so we could stay at the beach until checkout on our last day.

The room itself was in good condition, but the whole building, including our room, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke for two days and disrupted my vacation. I'm not sure whether it was cigarette smoke or the smell of whatever they use to repel bugs, but it was so bad that I wouldn't consider it suitable for a stay with a baby. Other than the smell, everything was relatively satisfactory.
