Riviera Iya Valley

Ryu-san is a kind, funny guide who makes the Yoshino river tour enjoyable. If you want a few hours in nature while visiting Iya Valley, kayaking is a must-do kind of experience. There's no better way to see this place, in my view. Hope to come back!

Joining the kayak class was my first time trying kayaking, and I had so much fun. I learned a lot of techniques, loved being out on the water and seeing the nature around us, and now want to try it again next time. The guest house is a short walk from the train station, with nice mountain views on the way. Ryo san was kind and picked me up on my first day, then dropped me at the station on my last day to make sure I got on my train safely. My room was clean and cozy with a window. Even with a shared bathroom, it was surprisingly clean and well maintained, and I loved the hot shower and strong water pressure. I had a really great stay.

Ryu was a fantastic, helpful host, and the place was spotless with a nice vibe and great shared spaces. My room had no window, but that was stated in the listing. I also joined a canoeing tour and had a great time. I can highly recommend Riviera Iya Valley.

We went kayaking here, not staying overnight. The Iya Valley is beautiful, and the kayaking was great. The equipment was excellent quality and very stable. Our guide was superb and adjusted things to suit the group. The stretch you can kayak is short because of some rapids.
