The squid bowl was topped with a soft-boiled egg and grated yam, and there were nine nigiri pieces. The octopus was surprisingly sweet and tender, the squid had a nice crunch, and the shrimp was plump and juicy. We also had squid tempura, miso soup, and a drink after the meal. The early-bird set, served from 11:30 to 12:30, was 2000 yen. Such good value! ✨ We’d tried Tatsu-san's first, but it was full, so we came here instead. They said they could serve the same menu. Just the two of us got a private room with a table for six, which felt kind of fancy, lol. It was a lot of food for me, in my late 40s or early 50s, though it might be just right for a man. I could’ve done with a little less rice, I think 🤣 We showed up on Saturday without a reservation and were lucky to get in, so booking ahead is definitely a must.

Breakfast was a feast. You can grill salmon, cod, another white fish whose name I don’t know, and sausage yourself. Everything was seasoned already and came out piping hot. The abalone porridge was delicious and filling, more than enough for another bowl’s worth. There were five kinds of pickles, mentaiko and seaweed, but I couldn’t manage plain rice, so I put them on the porridge instead. Drinks are self-serve, including coffee, iced coffee, and juice, with cute colorful cups. I came for one night with my mother, looking for seafood and a room with an open-air bath. It isn’t a hot spring, but we relaxed nicely. The room and toilet were spacious and comfortable, and there’s an indoor bath too. The changing area was roomy. The hallway had a gentle cypress-like woody scent, which was lovely, maybe because it’s been renovated. There were mini juices in the fridge, so cute we almost didn’t want to drink them. We had the 6,500 yen dinner course. The sashimi platter looked beautiful, and there was plenty of sesame oil and plum seasoning. The octopus was plump and delicious, and the abalone was good too. Then came tempura with large shrimp, meat, and dessert. I passed on the white rice, but the miso soup with lots of seaweed was great. We were completely full. There are no vending machines inside, so pick up beer at a nearby convenience store. We checked in at 4 PM and had two hours before dinner, so we visited Orihata Shrine. Munakata Taisha Shrine and Miyajidake Shrine are nearby too, handy for collecting Goshuin (shrine stamps). The wooden chairs just inside the entrance make a big impression, and there are owls in different spots around the building. Take pictures and see if you can find them! Lunch is reservation-only, and it’d be a lovely place for a special occasion. I’d like to bring someone special here next time. Thanks for a wonderful stay. P.S. For now, they’re giving a nice gift to people who leave a Google review or post on Instagram. The parking lot is very spacious.

The top floor to ourselves made the trip from Kanto well worth it. Breakfast took a while, but it was my first time trying it, and the fish was delicious!! I’ll definitely stay here next time I’m in Kyushu.

The staff were very polite and left a lovely impression. We had a relaxing family stay with good food and a bath, and it’s become a happy memory (^^). This was my first time staying since the renovation. I’d only used the hot springs for day visits before, and the updated interior, stylish room, and latest amenities made for a comfortable visit. The new hair dryers impressed me too. We had our children with us, and they loved exploring the room. The baths are indoors, with an open-air bath as well. The weather didn’t cooperate, which was a shame, but on a sunny day I imagine the view while soaking would be spectacular. All the food was tasty. The children’s lunch was just the right size for them, and the chawanmushi was packed with seafood and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was luxurious and there was more than we could finish. The skies cleared by morning, and the view was beautiful.

The bathroom floor gets slippery when it’s wet, so watch out if you have little kids. We still had a great time relaxing in the roomy open-air bath as a family of four, which was especially nice after a while without doing that. We’d heard the rooms had just been renovated and were excited to see them. They were so beautiful! 😍 Our schedule was hectic before check-in, so we brought our own lunch boxes for dinner. There wasn’t a microwave, but the staff kindly heated the food for us, which we really appreciated. 🙇♀️ Next time we’d like to try the meals too. We’ll definitely come back! 🤗
