The carpet was old and not so great, but the lobby and rooms were clean. Free WiFi and free laundry were a big plus, and the simple breakfast was good enough. We liked having connecting rooms for our family of four. It worked well as a place to stay before driving around the Aomori tip in a rental car.

You can borrow bicycles for free and get to places like Hokuyokan in under 10 minutes. The location is superb, and breakfast was really tasty with a different menu each day.

I stayed here to return to my hometown, even though my childhood home no longer exists. Ominato Station, the northernmost station on Honshu, is right next door. Breakfast is the standard all-you-can-eat kind.

Oato-min is at the northernmost tip of mainland Japan, and this hotel is close to the station.
