The grandfather kindly collected us from the train station, and his grandson speaks English, so communication was easy. Breakfast was homemade, simple, filling, and delicious each morning. After a day on the slopes, the shared onsen was pure bliss, especially with snow falling outside. Showers are taken there. Our spotless room was thoughtfully arranged and had its own toilet and sink. This cozy B&B is run by a very sweet elderly Japanese couple, with their grandson helping in winter. You can feel how much care they put into it. A lovely experience, and I’d return in a heartbeat.

We found this little B&B the night before coming to town. Mommi and Pappi were the sweetest hosts. When we arrived around 6 p.m., Mommi insisted on making us a pour-over coffee before we went to dinner, and Pappi offered to drive us wherever we needed, even though we had a car. The traditional rooms were clean and comfortable. Hot spring water is naturally refreshed every eight hours from a source up in Myoko. Mommi made a very tasty breakfast, and I’d gladly choose this place again over the others we’ve stayed at nearby.

A quiet, beautiful area with great views. A few lovely restaurants, convenience stores, and a large public onsen are within walking distance. The room was comfortable and well heated, and there’s a nice hot ofuro available around the clock. Tea drinkers will find a very good selection. The staff were wonderful, and the stay was great value.

An adorable elderly couple in their 80s run this lovely place. They had coffee and homemade baked goods ready for us when we arrived. I’d absolutely stay here again.

We were stuck in the mountains looking for somewhere else to stay after the owner cancelled our booking at the last minute. We couldn’t get to the property before 9:00 PM, despite having told them in advance that we’d be late, and the owner was very rude about it.
