The kaiseki meals were incredible, the staff were super friendly, and I loved the location. I can't say enough good things about this place and would recommend it to everyone. Be sure to go to Akameguchi falls while you're here, you won't regret it!

After hiking to the waterfalls in winter, the day spa was an incredible place to unwind. It was so peaceful, and it was snowing, dreamy. Only ¥800 and barely anyone was around. A traditional Japanese Onsen experience 👌

Akame and its waterfalls are worth a trip in Japan, especially in autumn when the leaves are out. I was surprised to see some negative reviews. This ryokan is cozy and charming, with a traditional feel, so don't expect modern accommodations. The place is carefully looked after, and we loved the peaceful atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. The staff didn't speak English, but we found a way to communicate without any trouble. I'd happily return.

The free shuttle to and from the train station was handy, and the hot spring was great. We stayed one night and enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, which were really good. The service was kind and excellent. They knew we didn't speak Japanese or understand the culture, and everyone was patient and helpful. A relaxing stay.
