I stayed here on a business trip and found it more than adequate for a visit when there's little time to relax. The room was simple, with hardwood floors, a sofa, and desk, and the futon had already been folded and set out. The inn is within walking distance of the station, with parking below and a convenience store nearby if you're driving. The shower and toilet are shared, as is the bath, which needs to be reserved. Breakfast is served in the cafe area that also functions as reception. The innkeepers are a kind couple, and I felt at ease there.
It may be a small inn, but the rooms were spotless and tidy. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent. I'd love to stay again if I get the chance.
The owner was kind and seemed mindful of giving us a comfortable amount of space. Even though we asked at the last minute, they were happy to include meals, and the food was excellent, especially the sashimi made with locally caught tuna. The room and bath were clean and pleasant. We stayed here to swim with the whales at Kujirahama Beach in Taiji, and we'll definitely return.
The only reason I'm taking off a star is that there was no hot water in the bathroom. Summer would be fine, but cold water in winter is a bit much, haha. I spent about a month and a half here for work, and the husband and wife were so friendly that I came to feel like family. Dinner was enjoyable, chatting with the husband about his work, motorcycles, and local ingredients. I heard he put a lot of effort into renovating the second floor when the guesthouse opened. I didn't ask for the details, but the DIY-style walls and fittings give it a stylish feel. Since the couple ride motorcycles too, motorcyclists get priority for covered parking, which must be handy. I said I'd bring my wife next time, though I may not give up traveling solo by motorcycle either.
I booked on the last day of a three-day weekend while touring without a particular destination. The room was minimal and really just for sleeping, but the facilities were among the most spacious I've seen at a place to stay. There was a lovely bath with rotating reservations, a shower room open 24 hours, and a kitchen guests could use freely. The bikes parked in the lounge looked cool, too.
