Hotel Route-Inn Court Shinonoi

After skiing at Nozawa Onsen, I stayed here and had a really satisfying holiday, with time the next day for both Zenkoji Temple and Matsumoto Castle. I was also impressed by how quickly the hotel got in touch to say I’d left something in my room. They sent it to my home the very next day. Thank you so much.

We usually stay here when we have a banquet or another event in Shinonoi. It’s a comfortable place to spend the night, set back from the station and roads, and the front desk and breakfast restaurant staff are always friendly. JR Shinonoi Station is less than a 10-minute walk away, with an Alpico Kotsu bus stop nearby too.

There are shops along the walk from Shinonoi Station, so finding dinner shouldn’t be a problem. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the station on foot, and the location is fairly convenient for a Route Inn. Some guests do say the parking lot is hard to find. There was work going on in the parking area, so maybe they’ll add a large public bath someday, though for now, unusually for a Route Inn, there isn’t one. The room door has a traditional key you turn, so remember to lock it. There’s no ice machine either. Hopefully they add one later.

The service was very polite, and I had no complaint about it. The room was roomy, with outlets by the pillow and to the left of the long table. But the bathroom step was higher than a shoe, which surprised me. I’d booked a smoking room because I smoke, and the cigarette smell inside was strong. The air conditioning didn’t do much, so anyone who gets hot easily might find it uncomfortable. For the hotel’s age and quality, I don’t think I’d come back unless the price came down a little.
