SA Inn Nagano Nanase

The hands-free check-in and check-out made things casual and easy, though security seemed a bit lax. The room itself felt more like a model apartment than a business hotel, with a washing machine, vacuum, microwave, and dish soap for everyday use. The push-button door lock wasn't convenient for me. There were no pajamas, and laundry was hard to dry since there was no bathroom clothesline. Hangers for underwear would help, too.

The quiet residential setting made for a good night's sleep, though shopping takes some planning. Coming from Nagano Station, it may be worth picking up groceries first, since at night the only handy shop is a 7-Eleven. The place feels like a weekly apartment, with a kitchen that could suit a longer stay, although I can't remember whether it had cooking gear. Towels and toothbrushes were provided, but no pajamas or other amenities. I found the unmanned check-in convenient once I got used to it, and they do verify your identity. I left without knowing what to do at checkout, but it seemed to work out.

Getting around is easy, with the station and downtown close by, plus supermarkets and convenience stores nearby. Since this serviced apartment has a washing machine, adding a clothesline would be useful, as is common overseas.

The bed has just the right firmness, and the room was clean.
