The location made touring Nagasaki easy, with the JR station and tram stop right next door. Having a whole apartment to myself was great, and it was comfortable and well maintained. A washing machine was included, with all the instructions in English. Reception isn’t at the hotel entrance, but it’s not very far away. The reception staff were kind and helpful, giving detailed instructions and assistance when I needed it. Thank you, Coruscant Hotel Nagasaki.

We stayed at Coruscant I, the closest building to Nagasaki Station. It was good to be across from the station and Amu Plaza mall, with a supermarket there, plus tram and bus stops nearby. We had to cross the footbridge, but thankfully it has elevators. The check-in desk is at Coruscant III, nearby but in a different location. Getting our heavy bags there over uneven streets was a bit of a struggle. Check-in at 4 PM is late, though they kindly let us in 10 minutes early. The room had two single beds, a large table, a bench, two chairs, kitchen utensils, and a washing machine. It was a good size for two. The toilet is separate from the shower, and there’s a sink. One bed cover had an unsightly stain, and the kettle was too small. Breakfast wasn’t included, but there’s a konbini nearby. At checkout, you just drop the key cards in the box. Good value for money.

It felt like having an apartment, with a full kitchen, a futon option in the closet, and free laundry in the room. We got a great online deal that worked for our low budget. The building is directly across from Nagasaki Station, with a Family Mart next door. They also store luggage for free on check-in and checkout days. The confusing part is the layout. The check-in office is a block or two from the actual hotel, and there are two station buildings with rooms. Check your key card to see whether you’re in Station 1 or 2, since they’re different buildings. We got mixed up, but the helpful staff showed us where to go. I recommend the place.

The receptionist was very friendly, and the location made getting around easy. It’s directly across from JR station and close to the bus terminal. The room was spacious, with a kitchen, separate toilet and bath, and a washing machine with a packet of detergent. You can pick up more detergent at the self-service counter at check-in. A couple of things could be better: the old kettle had some rust, and the towel hanger was falling apart. There were no tea bags or coffee, so bring your own if you need a morning boost.

The room we were first given was extremely messy and untidy, and hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest checked out. Check-in is at 4 PM, which feels too late when checkout is at 10 AM and there’s already a long gap between the times. We complained and got another room, but that one was only decent and still below expectations. The location is convenient once you’ve checked in, right in front of the station with several public transport options nearby. But check-in itself is cumbersome: the counter is at another property 150-200 m from the hotel. It took us a while to find it, and we had to keep dragging our luggage around. Overall, not a great experience.
