The employees were nice, but that didn't make the stay worthwhile. The view was good, yet you have to take a shuttle up a huge hill over the city, sharing it with about 30 people to get in and out. There was no central heating anywhere, and the long walk to the onsen was freezing. The rooms were gross and so old that we wore masks the first night. They said the hotel was built in 1970, but it looked like the original 1950s. I'd never stay again, even for free. If I had to pay, $40 a night would be my maximum. Read the 2013 reviews, it was still that bad 12 years later. Sorry to say, this hotel is 1-2 stars.

The hot bath isn't a hot spring, but its temperature is adequate. The buffet is great, although soft drinks cost ¥440 each for all-you-can-drink service. The place is cozy, but a bit old and not very well refurbished.

The hotel feels completely outdated and needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

The city view was great, but that's about the only thing I can recommend. The place has a Showa-era take on the Overlook hotel from the Shining, if you're curious. My bathroom stank, the wallpaper was peeling all over, and there was a huge stain on my blanket. The room doors sit about an inch above the floor, so hallway noise carries in whenever someone is a bit loud. I've stayed in cheap love hotels in rural Tohoku that were more comfortable.

I had no choice but to spend three nights here, and the stay was terribly uncomfortable. The bathroom was extremely dirty, to the point where I couldn't stand taking a bath in it. The room was unclean too, and my friends and I got itchy marks on our arms and feet. The one relatively normal feature was the large public bath. I don't know if that's why the in-room bathroom wasn't cleaned, but it was ridiculous. We'd booked three nights and reached Nagasaki at about 11:30 pm after a long drive from Saga, so I checked in late on the first night. Around 10:30 the next morning, the front desk called to tell us to move rooms. I repeatedly explained that we'd reserved for three nights and asked why we had to change, but eventually the staff member hung up. I wouldn't recommend booking this hotel in Nagasaki unless you can put up with bug bites and a moldy bathroom.
