Access By Loisir Hotel Nagoya

I paid about 20,000 php for four nights in a deluxe standard room. It had a fridge, safe, hairdryer, hot shower, Japanese toilet, and wifi. There’s also a laundry room with vending machines, free cereal in the morning, and coffee available around the clock. Staff were easy to talk to and quick to handle requests. You can check in and out yourself, ask for housekeeping or put it off, and use the yes or no magnet on the door. Fresh towels are provided daily either way. Bike rentals are available too. ACCESS by Loisir worked well as a Nagoya base, whether stopping over from another city or staying a few days. It’s next to Oasis21, where Sakae’s train and subway stations connect to the Aonami, Meijo, Sakuradori, and Higashiyama lines. From there you can connect to Nagoya Station for the Shinkansen. The bus terminal has routes all over, including direct buses to Chubu Centrair Airport and Komaki Airport. Oasis21 has shops and restaurants and links to Central Park and Higashiyama Park. The Meiji Tower is about ten minutes away, with Mitsukoshi and Skyle Mall just beyond it. The surrounding Aichi district is lively, so there’s both a relaxed side and plenty of nightlife. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend ACCESS for a future Nagoya visit.

The open balcony style hallways let air under the door, so the room got pretty cold at night. It wasn’t a big problem for me, though it could bother someone else. I stayed for eight days and seven nights. The room was bigger than at a typical business hotel, clean and relaxing, with enough space for one or two people. Cleaning was good, and I could get fresh towels and amenities anytime. It’s near Oasis 21, Hisayaodori Park, and several subway entrances, which made the location very convenient. The staff were kind and helped call a taxi. There are bike rentals, umbrellas to borrow, free daytime coffee, morning cereal, and a coin laundry that came in handy.

Friendly, professional staff and good coffee. The room was clean and compact, with a comfortable bed and a very good bathroom. Simple amenities, no fuss, no complaints.

The hotel is just a two or three minute walk from Sakae Subway Station Exit 7A, with access to the Higashiyama and Meijo lines and the underground part of Oasis 21. Nagoya TV Tower, Hisaya-Odori Park, lots of restaurants, and a nearby Family Mart are all close by. This was my second stay. Last time my room faced the back and had small windows, but this time I got a front-facing room with big windows and a nice view of NHK Broadcasting Station. It was spacious for one person, and the extra desk by the bed made a good place for my luggage. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were two pillows. Housekeeping is available daily if you put the magnetic sign on the door before 1 PM. I like that, since many Japanese hotels only clean every few days. One small disappointment was that breakfast service had ended two weeks before I arrived. I’d enjoyed it on my previous visit. They now have coffee all day and a self-serve cereal and milk station in the morning, which is still nice. Good value and very convenient, so I’ll probably come back.
