Ryokan Meiryu

I walked all over Nagoya except out to the Port, and really enjoyed the high streets nearby. Some places are close, others farther away, though Nagoya isn’t easy to explore on foot anyway. The room was nice, the futon comfy, and the hot bath very relaxing. Everything was available 24 hours. The vending machine even had melon cream soda for 100 yen (!), and the washing machine and dryer were ridiculously cheap. I wish I’d stayed longer just so I could have that breakfast more than once. 9/10, I’ll come again!

The owner spoke very good English, and the room service was kind and great. The room was larger than I expected and very clean, and the bathing area was clean and well maintained. It’s a great ryokan, with nice rooms, a good price, and a very good location. Kamimaezu Station is nearby for getting around, and Osu shopping district is just a short walk away, with plenty of stores and restaurants. It’s definitely worth a visit. I’d book this ryokan again on another trip to Nagoya.

The staff were very welcoming! It’s a traditional room with kimono, and the bathroom was clean, nothing to complain about there. The place is conveniently located near the train station and downtown Nagoya. A great experience.

The room gets cleaned daily, and the staff were very accommodating. I had a very good experience overall. I’m taking off a star for the paper-thin doors and walls. The optional breakfast was also a bit subpar for the price, especially with a Matsuya and other breakfast places nearby.
