Allstay Kotobuki

The thin walls are the one drawback, and I wouldn’t recommend this place if you have kids because even the slightest noise from the neighbors carries. Otherwise, it’s affordable, clean, and neat, with room for four people and all the important equipment in good working order, including a washing machine, stove, plates, and cutlery. For value, it beats similar Airbnb places. The location is great: 15 minutes on foot from Kokusai Dori, 10 minutes from Naminoue beach and Shrine, and five minutes from the bus station, so you can get anywhere. It’s also only a 10-minute taxi ride to the airport. The building is new.

The main issue was how little privacy there was. I noticed a large crack where the wall shared with the next door unit should meet the ceiling, and light from their room came through near the ceiling. I could hear their conversations crystal clear. I couldn’t review on the Airbnb app because I wasn’t the one paying, but I wanted to raise this complaint. Otherwise, my stay was good. The building seems fairly new, everything was well put together, and the amenities were great. There’s a washer and dryer, which was really nice, though you need to bring your own detergent. If you have a car, there are several Times parking spaces nearby. The closest one, right on the corner, was 770 yen per night.

Nice room.

For anyone planning marine leisure activities, I’d say absolutely do not stay here. The room has exposed steel reinforcement, presumably to make it look bigger, and I could hear next door’s conversations and cans being opened. I needed to get up early, but a drinking party started next door after midnight. There was no front desk, so I left and booked another hotel to avoid trouble with the police. They sent the pre-stay information the day before, but it had no link to fill out the form, so I had to ask for it myself. The only good thing was that the exterior and interior photos looked pretty. I’ll never stay here again.
