Hotel Gran View Okinawa

I needed somewhere near Naha airport for one night and found this hotel incredible value for money. It's right next to Akamine station, one stop from the airport. There are several highly rated restaurants and even an Aeon within walking distance. I'd recommend it.

The breakfast had more variety than I expected, and it was delicious. The one letdown was that there wasn't an umbrella to borrow in the heavy rain. I had to go to a nearby supermarket to buy dinner and got soaked. Without the rain, this would've been a perfect business hotel, and I'll be back next week. I first stayed here more than 10 years ago, when it had just opened. It's still a business hotel, and a super convenient one, just one monorail stop from Naha Airport.

For a late arrival from overseas and a few hours of sleep, this is a cheap, handy option. The rooms are small, but I only needed somewhere to sleep, not to entertain guests, so it worked out. Breakfast is included, and the hotel is right on the tram line, at the first stop leaving the airport. The bed was comfortable and the bath deep enough for a relaxing soak before bed. There's no currency exchange at the hotel, so use a credit card or pick up a few thousand yen at the airport.

Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is directly across from Akamine monorail station, in a lively area, so noise may depend on which room you get. You can get to Naha airport by public transport, though it's a bit difficult. A taxi to or from Naha airport costs about 1100 Yen.
