We booked a room for dogs, but the promised supplies, including toilet sheets and special bags, weren’t there. We also found a lot of ants on the second floor, and hope they’ll address that. The neighbors were loud from the time we checked in, with three children screaming and making noise. They went out before dusk and it got quiet, but came back just after midnight and carried on with loud sports until about 1:30 a.m. The walls are thin enough that we could hear every conversation, and the parents didn’t seem to tell them to stop. We just put up with it, then later wished we’d contacted customer service, as other guests had.

I got a message the next day saying they couldn’t find a bath towel, but I didn’t know anything about the towels. The night before, someone had banged on my door and woken me up, which made me cry. Was it a prank? You can hear everything the neighbors say.

The emergency customer center was a huge help. I called after midnight, and about ten minutes later the noise next door stopped completely. I’m not sure how they handled it, and the sudden silence was a little scary, but I slept soundly until morning. At check-in we exchanged a brief greeting with the family in the neighboring room. The walls are thin, and their noise was noticeable right away. After sightseeing on Kokusai Street, we got back just after 8 p.m. to find a party underway, with pounding footsteps and lots of chatter. The room booklet said in several languages that quiet hours in Japan are 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., but the party continued past 9 and the voices got more heated. We’d read similar reviews, but had chosen the place for its price and decided to stay for the time being. We didn’t want to spoil the neighbors’ enjoyable overseas trip, so we tolerated it until midnight, when it still hadn’t improved and I called the 24-hour operator. For the price, the station location gets five stars, room and bed size four, bathroom four, toilet two because there’s no washlet, and shower four for its excellent water pressure. The customer center gets eleven stars. One thing to keep in mind, it probably depends on the culture of the next-door gacha machine. ★^_^;
