POOL VILLA KOURIJIMA by COLDIO

The villa itself was amazing, but at this price I expected more. It’s basically one room, with another bed in the living room, so there isn’t much privacy for a group. There’s no kitchen or cooking gear, and you need to bring your own plates and cutlery. Room service is available, though the menu is limited. They have coffee but no sugar or anything with it. It’s a “smart” facility with no staff around, and there’s no information about where to get help if something goes wrong.

The pool villas cost quite a bit more, but I thought they were worth it. They’re open and spacious, with a patio deck that leads straight into a decent-sized infinity pool. The pool is shared with other rooms, though people seemed to keep to themselves and each villa had plenty of space. There’s also a huge tub with water jets, and a large family can fit in each pool villa. The regular villas are roomy too, with plenty of amenities and parking right beside them. They’re further up the side of Kouri Island, with excellent views of the sea, the bridge, and the nearby islands. My one gripe was the firmness of the Japanese beds. We often woke up with stiff backs and sometimes sore necks. You get what you pay for, and it’s worth staying for the experience.

The view was nice, but I got mixed up finding the place and had to take a different route. I’d recommend renting a car.

No kitchen space for cooking, but the place was clean, roomy, and had great amenities. Highly recommend!
