Asahinoyado Shidakaji

It’s a peaceful spot at night with hardly any light pollution, and it’s also close to Naha. The lovely owners have a beautiful B&B in the southern part of Okinawa, at Nanjo. Breakfast was amazing.

The hosts made us feel very welcome, and we’re enjoying our stay. The rooms are pleasant, clean, and nice, and breakfast is delicious.

The owners were thoughtful about the island’s water problems on the day I arrived. They’d set aside enough water for that night and the next day. I had a pleasant stay in Nov 2025, and the couple running the place were very welcoming. They even offered me tea when I arrived, and the lady speaks very good English. Breakfast was local and healthy, the surroundings were peaceful and quiet, and parking came with the accommodation. They also kindly let me know when I’d left my electric adapter behind. I’ll certainly come back next time I’m on this side of Okinawa.

The quiet setting, away from residential areas, meant I wasn’t disturbed by noise from the next room. With mountains in front and the sea in the distance, I could enjoy some time alone at my own pace. The nearby convenience store and Costco were handy for late-night shopping. This was my second stay, five years after the first, because I’d come away with such a good impression. Before the trip, they answered my email questions quickly and courteously, which reassured me. I was a little nervous about traveling alone, but the owner kindly showed me around and shared information about Okinawa, which helped me feel at ease.
