The mountain views are stunning, and we had a great stay. The owners made us feel welcome and were very accommodating. It's a kid friendly place, with a limited food menu that also included wild boar and bear. We tried the boar set, which was delicious, served with fresh vegetables. They also had a great selection of local and domestic Japanese beers. Breakfast was a tasty egg sandwich. The bathrooms and showers are shared, though each is private to use. Many thanks to the Takazuri family for their warm hospitality. We hope to come back someday.

We slept well in the traditional tatami rooms, which had air conditioning and comfortable futons. The owners put their child to bed around 9:30 PM, and it was completely quiet after that. There are two shared shower rooms and toilets, free bath towels, and earplugs, though we didn't need them. This family-run inn in a small mountain village felt so welcoming. We arrived in the evening to find the owner's lively son running around, and the family of three greeted us both when we came in and when we left. Takachiyo, the village hunter's restaurant, is a must-try for its amazing bear and boar dishes. Breakfast at the inn was great too, though we were so eager to eat that a couple of bites were already gone from the photos. It was an amazing one-night stay, and I'd definitely come again.

We loved the house's warm, lively feel and the wonderful hospitality. Everything was clean, and I really liked the interior. The bunk beds were simple but roomy and comfortable enough for us tall Dutch guests. The host got in touch beforehand to ask if we'd like homemade dinner, and we did. It was delicious, and they handled all our dietary needs perfectly.

Kota & Kanako were friendly and quick to respond, and they speak English well, so communication was easy. Kota also suggested places for dinner and a hot spring. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, in a quiet spot surrounded by natural scenery. It was easy to relax, do nothing, and enjoy the social atmosphere around the cafe. We only stayed one night, which was too bad. It's a lovely place, and we'll definitely come back!

The family running Takazuri-Kita Guest House made the stay feel warm from the start. The owner was friendly and quick to help, his wife was kind and worked hard to keep everyone comfortable, and their cute child added to the family atmosphere. I liked the blend of dorm-style rooms and a traditional Japanese ryokan feel. It’s a peaceful, welcoming place near Shirakawa-go, whether you’re traveling alone or with friends. I’d happily come back, and recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable cultural stay.
