The quiet rooftop was the best part for me, with a lovely bay view and the sound of waves at night. The room was clean and comfortable, and roomy by Japanese standards, though the amenities were basic. The host communicated really well and lent us her car when we had an international driving license, which made it possible to see much more of the island. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Watching the sunset on the walk back from Chichu museum was spectacular, and it’s only about 10-15 minutes away. The ocean is right there, so I could hear the waves softly through the night and slept wonderfully. The host was very welcoming and friendly, and gave us rides a few times when she was around. It was a magical stay.

Our unit had windows facing the sea, which we were lucky to get. We loved sitting on the terrace at night, watching the stars and having meals there. It’s a peaceful place with a relaxing ocean view, away from the busy areas, and we had a great time. They picked us up when we arrived, even though it’s a bit of a walk from Miyanoura port. In the morning, it took us about 10 minutes to walk to the rental shop. Breakfast is free, with toast, butter, jam, and coffee or tea, and we could use the fridge for free. We either ate dinner near the port or bought food at the convenience store and heated it up here. There are four units.

The owner was really friendly and helpful. My friend and I found it a great base for exploring the island, and we recommend renting e-bikes. After a busy day, or early in the morning, it was lovely to go for a swim in the sea. Strongly recommend! 😍
