Bakery Hotel Château D'or - Hostel

Breakfast in the lobby was delicious: thick-cut toast, salad, and a drink. The standard double room was spacious and clean. It's under a five-minute walk to Nara-Kintetsu Station, and Nara's main attractions are also easy to reach on foot. A pleasant stay right in the heart of Nara.

The room is on the small side, and if it's facing the street you may hear some noise. That's pretty normal for Japan, though. The hotel is on a quiet street in the center of Nara, with an amazing location and very reasonable prices. Breakfast is free, and the bread tastes great. Try the cookies they sell too, I loved them. The staff are helpful and flexible, so just ask if you run into an issue or need something. It's impressive how much they offer for such a reasonable price.

This was our first international trip, and the area worked perfectly for us. We stayed about 16 nights, which is a long time, and we're so glad we chose them. The hospitality was welcoming and they were very accommodating. They kept the room clean and provided a satisfying breakfast each morning. I'll recommend it to friends and family visiting Japan. The hotel feels cozy and homey, and the neighborhood is clean and very quiet. It's close to Nara Deer Park and the station, with a Lawson, 7 Eleven, a shopping street, and lots of restaurants nearby. A few things to know before booking: there are no phones in the rooms, so you have to go to reception if you need anything. The breakfast choices are very limited, just a big thick toast with a topping of your choice. They don't have a taxi-calling service, and reception closes at 11 pm.
