Guesthouse MAPLE NIKKO

The staff were very kind and answered all our questions online, no matter what time we sent them. It’s an affordable, very nice place, though there’s a short walk from either Tobu Nikko or Nikko JR train station.

We booked for four people, but there was bedding for only two. After we told the owner, more was brought the next day, but the sheets were dusty and had stains that looked like blood. The inn is so run down it can’t manage the basic job of providing clean bedding. I wouldn’t stay here.

On my first day in Nikko, the owner took the time to explain everything in detail and was very kind. The room was clean, and the large parking lot had space for three cars, which was convenient. Through the window I watched the occasional car go by and children playing soccer in the distance. It reminded me of home. I cooked something simple in the evening, had two drinks, and that was enough. Thank you, and I hope to see you again on another visit to Nikko.

A lovely little house, cosy and simple, really just for showering and sleeping. The host was incredibly friendly, attentive, and trustworthy. It’s a bit of a distance from Nikko station, though not too far. Highly recommend!
