The rooms are large, the onsen is spacious, and the staff were especially helpful. In late spring there were only a handful of guests, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. For the price, you really get the full ryokan experience.

I can’t remember her name, only that she’s from Vietnam. She helped me with so much enthusiasm and cheerfulness.

The entrance is stylish, with parking right out front, and the hotel sits among the ruins. We were welcomed with two kinds of apple juice, coffee, and hot hot spring buns, which we enjoyed while admiring the view from the lobby. There are darts, too. Our room was functional and quite spacious, with everything we needed, including a humidifier, amenities, and water. There were plenty of outlets, and the balcony looked straight out over the Kinugawa River. The large public bath has no outdoor section, but the indoor bath is roomy and relaxing. Toner and lotion were available in the changing room. Since this is a small inn, I went a few times and usually had it practically to myself. The meal was absolutely delicious, with a view of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast came with milk, apple juice, coffee, and tea, though the coffee was quite lukewarm. From 8 to 9:00 there were three kinds of whiskey to choose from, with water and sparkling water available too. The hotel was very well maintained throughout. With only a few guest rooms, it was a lovely quiet place to relax. I wanted to stay for about a week. Thanks for the hospitality.

The river was the best part of the room, both the view from the window and the sound of it outside. The Japanese-modern space felt lovely and the inn was so quiet and relaxing. We also had a chance to unwind in the hot springs. Dinner was delicious, and the welcome drink and evening service at the whiskey bar were excellent.

The large bath has no open-air section, but the view of the mountains and Kinugawa River made it a relaxing place to soak. The inn is right along the river, so the scenery from the room is lovely, and it’s only about a five-minute walk from Tobu Kinugawa Station, even though we arrived by car. The building feels new and clean, and the room had plenty of amenities. Breakfast and dinner portions were a little small, so younger guests might find them insufficient.
