Stay Nikko Guesthouse – Hostel

We’re sad we only booked one night at Stay Nikko Guesthouse. The house was lovely, and there was plenty of room for the three of us. The owner gave us a warm welcome, was incredibly kind, and spoke perfect English. He calmly suggested restaurants and explained how to make the most of our time in Nikko. I’d definitely stay here again if I come back.

Nikko deserves more than a quick stop. You can see the main sights in a day, but staying longer gives you time to wander outdoors and unwind after the rush of Tokyo. We only booked one night and wished we'd stayed more. The hosts were lovely, generous, and always ready to help.

A cozy, welcoming place, especially if you're traveling with family or friends. The host was wonderfully kind and spoke English fluently. And if you love cats, you'll be very happy here.

We loved how easy it was to get around from here, with the train station close by and the countryside right there too. The staff even went out of their way to return something we'd left behind. They were so friendly throughout, and helped us plan our sightseeing by drawing a map, suggesting attractions, and driving us to the station. The guest house felt homely and cute, with a peaceful view over the resting area and countryside. The beds were dangerously comfortable, and the quiet made it easy to sleep. After a long day, it was such a comforting place to come back to. One of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I'd return to Nikko just to stay here again.
