The best thing was getting access to the large public bath at a nearby hotel, though reaching it meant crossing the street in the snow. The parking setup was odd too. We had to stop at the entrance to unload our bags before sorting out the car. I booked a twin room through trip.com in January, but staff then asked for an extra charge for two people, so I paid another 10,000 yen. The male staff were rude. The women helping out, who seemed to be from the bakery, were much friendlier and more reasonable.

The pastry on the first floor was really good, and the bath across the street was the biggest onsen I've ever seen. Access to it was included with the hotel. Our room was first on the freezing top floor, where the AC didn't work. After a couple of talks with the front desk, we managed to move to a lower floor. I don't think they could have helped if no other rooms had been open. The Wi-Fi was so weak we couldn't use it at all. For the price, it was a great stay.

I was glad I stayed here. Takimotokan feels like Vegas to me, while this place is fairly basic and sits right across from it. Guests can use Takimotokan's baths for free since both hotels belong to the same company. The morning pastries were another big draw.

The location made it easy to explore the area without having to climb the mountain each time. Guests can also use the onsen for free at the hotel across the way. My room was clean and had everything I needed, and the staff who helped me check in were very friendly.

The onsen was amazing. I went four times in two days, and as someone with large tattoos all over my body, I had no trouble there. It's tattoo friendly. The hotel is right across from what I thought was the biggest onsen in Hokkaido, and staying at adex inn gets you in for free.
