Oarai Hotel

The room is spacious and looks out over the ocean. Both dinner and breakfast buffets were really good. There’s also time and space to have drinks or play at the hotel.

We could walk to the clean beach in just a few minutes, and the nearby town had a relaxed coastal feel. After sightseeing and clam digging at the beach, the massage chairs in the spacious lounges were wonderful. They were high-quality chairs that gave a full-body massage, and I could really unwind. The onsen was clean and well maintained, with indoor and outdoor baths. The natural hot spring water soothed our tired muscles, and the outdoor bath let us feel close to nature while still having privacy. It was one of my most rejuvenating onsen visits, and the hotel clearly cares about offering a calm, authentic bathing experience. Our family also enjoyed the candle-making activity. It was a proper arts and crafts session for adults and children, with kind, patient instructors and good materials. We made personalized candles that are now a lovely reminder of the trip. The hotel felt thoughtful and comfortable from arrival to checkout. Room amenities, toiletries, and bedding were all excellent, and complimentary drinks and local snacks in the lounge were a nice touch. The hallways and lobbies were calm and welcoming too. It managed to feel luxurious, warm, and family-friendly at once. Oarai Hotel was one of the best hotel stays I’ve had. We’re already talking about when we can return. Dinner and breakfast both get 10/10, the in-room onsen with the beach view and sound gets 10/10, and the staff service is 11/10. The building is still old, though, and the ancient resilient creature is hard to escape.

The building’s hardware is old, but the renovation and upkeep seem good, so it doesn’t feel bad at all. Every room has a sea view, and dinner is all-you-can-eat and delicious. There are lots of interesting activities you can do at no extra charge, plus free parking and an EV charger.
