Good food and service.

We had a huge amount of pufferfish, more than I'd ever eaten before, and I'll go back. The best part of an old guesthouse like this is the food. There was a big platter of tessa for two, so generously piled that we had to pick up about three pieces at once with our chopsticks. We also had fried and simmered dishes, tetchiri, and lots of tiger pufferfish. The room was old, with a Showa-era feel and no lock on the entrance, but it was very well cleaned and comfortable. It's an old-fashioned guesthouse in the Obama inn district.
The food tasted good, but I was shocked at how dirty the bathroom and kitchen were. The service was poor, too. I couldn't believe the room didn't even have a table or cushions. I won't go back. 😭
I used the Nationwide Travel Support Program for my stay. The boat-shaped sea bass platter was delicious, and the inn itself was nice despite being old. Still, for this kind of meal, I felt I could stay at a guesthouse on the Chita Peninsula or Mikawa Bay in Aichi Prefecture for under 10,000 yen at most. That left me wondering why I needed to travel all the way to Obama. Other reviewers say it may be good during pufferfish season, but this time I was a little disappointed.
The landlady was really kind and offered all sorts of helpful services. The food was delicious, and the air conditioning kept things comfortable. We had such a fun, comfortable stay that I want everyone to come!
