Dinner was a real surprise, with local ingredients and catches presented at an omakase level I hadn't expected at a small countryside ryokan. The freshly boiled local red snow crab stood out, juicy and full of umami, even better than the much pricier branded crab from Kanazawa. It was our first visit to the Oga Peninsula Oga Peninsula, and the ryokan also had sweeping ocean views and a beautiful sunset. The interior was simple and spacious, and the staff were super friendly.

The only thing I’d change is the hot spring, which was a bit too hot. Everything else made for such a lovely stay. The staff were attentive and wholehearted, and both the food and its presentation were great. Our room was cozy and extremely clean, with a sea view that still felt healing despite the bad weather. The ryokan itself is beautiful, blending traditional and contemporary details. The drivers were thoughtful, too. The one who picked us up brought umbrellas for everyone, and after checkout the driver took us to a market near Oga station so we could enjoy ourselves while waiting for the train. We had a really good time here, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The quality here doesn't come with an astronomical price tag. It's a contemporary Japanese ryokan with delicious food, excellent service, and clean, modern rooms. A great experience.
