My boyfriend and I stayed here on a trip, and we were very happy with it. The Camellia Room was great, the semi-open-air stone bath was lovely, and both the kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast were great. The staff were great too, and they picked us up from the parking lot and carried our heavy luggage. They even froze our ice packs for us. I went into the open-air bath four times, though getting the temperature right was incredibly difficult. There are separate taps for hot spring water and cold water, and it’s hard to balance them. The spring water is very hot, so the bath was initially far too hot. We had to shut off the spring water and add lots of cold water. The next time, we filled the bath with warmer water first, then adjusted it with the spring water. We didn’t even watch TV and had a really relaxing stay. I’d like to use your service again if I get the chance.

The food was delicious, and the inn was quiet, though the neighbors were noisy enough that we couldn’t hear our conversation during meals. 😅 The room was very clean, the inn was well maintained, and the staff made a great impression. Our room had a window but no view outside at all, which made me a little nervous because I’m claustrophobic. I wish I could at least have known what the weather was like. People mention the stairs from the parking lot, but if you can manage those, it’s a great inn with a lovely warmth from the wood.

The dinner was satisfying, from the ingredients to the presentation and seasoning. Breakfast, though, was quite disappointing for the price of the stay. I’d happily stay again if they offered a wider selection, with drinks, small side dishes, and desserts to choose from. The inn’s renovated main building has a warm, wood feel. It’s a slight climb from the parking lot, and the rooms with open-air baths have both Japanese-style rooms and bedrooms, giving you a quiet place to relax. Being able to bathe in hot spring water whenever you like is great. A leisurely walk along the nearby river lets you enjoy the nature.

I’m already starting to plan another stay because this inn was that good. The food was delicious, and even as a big eater I found the portions filling. I’ll definitely be back.
