The room was roomy and clean, and the rate was reasonable, so the stay was okay overall. Still, the shower area had mold and the curtain smelled. We also found the bed much too firm, and the pillows weren't comfortable. Most nights we barely slept and woke with back pain. The sofa bed was the worst of all. For a hotel rated four stars, the amenities felt closer to three. The in-room coffee and tea were instant, which disappointed me. I wish they'd provided at least tea bags. If we come back to the area, I'll look for somewhere else.

The staff were friendly, but the room was in poor shape: old, damaged, and unclean. There were stains across the floor, and someone had covered the sofa with a stained throw. It made me suspect the sofa underneath was even dirtier. The place really didn't feel like a four-star hotel. We paid nearly $200 USD for one night in a single room during Golden Week, which didn't feel worth it. Breakfast was unimpressive too.

For a long holiday, staying in this room was painful. There were stains everywhere, mold around the basin, and the sofa cover was badly torn. It felt like they'd put me in the room that most needed renovation, and they shouldn't have let guests use it in that condition. I asked to move somewhere better, but the other room was almost just as bad. It felt like throwing my money in the bin.

The hotel isn't especially modern, but it has just about everything, even little things like ice cubes that you might not think of. The staff were excellent and tried really hard to help, though they may have trouble understanding your language. Our room was ready and everything seemed well prepared. We had a lovely stay, especially enjoyed the excellent breakfast, and I'd happily come back. The warm service is something I'd recommend experiencing.

The staff at the hotel and shop were very pleasant with us as foreigners, and parking was free. It's also a decent base for walking to malls and stores. The hotel itself was nice, though the beds were really uncomfortable, and I was disappointed that using the pool cost extra. The breakfast photos showed more choices than there actually were. Next time we're in Oita, we'll probably find a different hotel.
