The OneFive Okayama - Vacation STAY 41839v

At 20€ a night for two people, we had a top-floor room with a good city view. For our one-month trip around Japan, this was the best value hotel we found. Complaining about lockers or having to rent blankets at that price, especially in that location, seems unreasonable to me. Light sleepers should know the walls are paper thin, and you can hear everything in the neighboring rooms. We think nobody was next door during our stay, so it didn't bother us, but the gap beneath the room door makes the noise issue pretty obvious. Otherwise, good stuff.

The location is good, the place is clean, and complimentary supplies are provided. The bedroom is small and the pillows aren't good. The paid luggage storage was unacceptable: it was expensive, and there are only so many lockers, so you may be stuck if they're all taken. I've never stayed at a hotel that did this before.

It's near Okayama Castle and the beautiful Korakuen Garden, and the room is large with some basic cooking facilities. The main drawback is having no hotel luggage storage, so you have to use the lobby coin lockers. In Japan, hotels only let you check in from 3 pm and require checkout by 10 am. Ha, just sleep and leave.

You have to pick up slippers, pajamas, toothbrushes, and the like on the first floor yourself, so apart from towels and body and hair wash, the room has basically nothing supplied. The towels were left on the bed instead of in the bathroom, which felt inconsiderate. There's a strange mirror in the middle of the desk facing the bed. Soundproofing is poor too, and I could hear kids screaming and jumping next door. Keeping luggage after checkout means paying for a coin locker, and it's expensive.
