The buffet breakfast is home-cooked and delicious, with both Western choices and Japanese food. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the room price is reasonable. It’s also a short walk to the train station, so we can reach Kota in just a few minutes. We stay here to visit our son, who lives two train stops away. We used to stay nearer to him, but having no heat in our room for hours, along with the lack of amenities and service, was the last straw. My Hotel Okazaki works for us even though we have to travel a little. There used to be a fluent English speaker on staff, but we haven’t seen her this trip. We liked her and miss her. I can’t say how it would suit a typical tourist, since we’re here to see our grandchildren rather than explore.

The room was comfortable and the service was excellent. Okazaki Station is right nearby, which makes the location great, though the trains can be a little loud in the morning if you want to sleep in. It was better than I expected.

The staff were friendly, smiled warmly, and seemed well trained. The free breakfast buffet was homemade and delicious, just as other reviews say, and there’s curry too, so you can eat your fill. Okazaki Station is close by, which is handy. There’s a large public bath, but I couldn’t use it because men and women take turns using it. Separate baths would make it perfect. I’d definitely stay again.

You can come in for breakfast even without an overnight stay. Just pay 1,100 yen at the front desk in the morning. I like the buffet because it’s light and balanced.
